Background
Kirk Kerkorian was born in June 6, 1917 in California. He is the youngest of the four children in the family. He finished school and when the World War II was about to happen, he started visiting flying lessons. He got so involved and dreamed of becoming a pilot. He gained the pilot's license after 6 months of training and started working for British Royal Air Force. His mission was delivering planes during the World War II. Kirk delivered Canadian built planes to Scotland over the north Atlantic.
Career
Kirk Kerkorian managed to save money that he gained during the war. Afterwards, he started working as an aviation pilot. At the early 40s he made his determining trip to Vegas, where he spent several years and started his own air-charter service called Trans-International Airlines that took gamblers from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. He operated the airline and owned the planes till 1968 and then sold in for about $104 million. So that is how his career of millionaire began.
Some years before selling his airlines he bought more than 30 hectares of land in Vegas Strip. This was amazingly profitable investment. He built the biggest hotel and casino at that time, the International hotel. Soon afterwards he built many other famous hotels & casinos, mega resorts and was known as one of the richest casino owners in the Las Vegas history.
Kirk Kerkorian never wanted to be engaged in just one industry he always wanted to live large and started investing money into Move industry, by buying MGM movie studio. In addition to that Kerkorian had stakes in Chrysler corporation, General Motors and Ford Motor company.
Kirk Kerkorian wants to live large and even at the age of 92 he has active life, moreover, he is a very generous as he has donated more than $200 million for charity purposes.
